Filling Your Prescriptions Safely

It’s now more important than ever that you stay healthy. One way you can do that is to keep taking your medications exactly as prescribed. That's because taking medications consistently is an important part of managing your health conditions. There are some simple steps you can take to fill your prescriptions safely, and we’ll walk you through them!

The first thing you can do is call your health insurance company and ask if they have a mail-order prescription service. This might help you avoid going to the pharmacy altogether! If you can’t get your prescriptions mailed, try to limit your trips to the pharmacy. Call your pharmacist in advance and ask them for a 90-day supply AND to fill all of your prescriptions at once. You can also ask if they can deliver the prescriptions to your home. If you’re in a high-risk group, or if you already feel sick, ask a friend or family member to pick up your prescriptions for you.

If you do have to go to the pharmacy

If you have questions about your prescriptions, call your pharmacist or doctor. And remember: stay safe, stay healthy, and always take your prescriptions as directed.
